Advancing Hydrogen Storage: Highlights from the MAST3RBoost Workshop

The MAST3RBoost HE project successfully held its workshop “Hydrogen Storage Opportunities for Carbon Materials” on 8 October 2025 at INCAR-CSIC (Oviedo, Spain) and online.

The event gathered experts from research, industry, and academia to explore the latest advances and future directions in hydrogen storage technologies, with a special focus on carbon-based materials.

Throughout the sessions, speakers and participants addressed key topics such as:

🔹 Hydrogen and sustainable energy, including the innovative approach of the MAST3RBoost HE project
🔹 Designing carbon materials for efficient hydrogen storage
🔹 Measuring hydrogen uptake and performance evaluation
🔹 Scaling up technologies from laboratory to industrial applications
🔹 Exploring opportunities for carbon materials beyond MAST3RBoost

One of the highlights of the day was the round table discussion, featuring contributions from the MOST-H2 project, where participants exchanged ideas, identified common challenges, and explored potential synergies between ongoing European initiatives in the hydrogen sector.

The workshop was a great success, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across the hydrogen and materials research communities. The MAST3RBoost team extends its sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and attendees — both onsite and online — for making this event possible.

Stay tuned for more updates as MAST3RBoost continues to advance the future of hydrogen storage through next-generation carbon materials!
